Spooky Black Cherry Float
Welcome Halloween in your house with a delicious and spooky black cherry float! This is a fun drink for kids, but I also make a version just for the grown ups because we desert to enjoy the holiday too.
These tasty floats are made with Black Cherry Sparkling Ice, vanilla bean ice cream, homemade whipped cream, and ghoulishly cute sprinkles on top. The grown up cocktail option includes vanilla vodka.

How to Make Spooky Black Cherry Floats – Mocktail Version
STEP 1: Fill a glass halfway with Black Cherry Sparkling Ice, then add 1-2 scoops of vanilla bean ice cream (or your favorite variety of vanilla ice cream).
You’ll see the ice cream and Sparkling Ice create a thick, creamy foam in the glass.
STEP 2: Pour in more Black Cherry Sparkling Ice until the glass is almost full.
Tip: pour slowly because as you add the Sparkling Ice you’ll create more fizz pretty quickly.
STEP 3: In a medium mixing bowl, beat 1 cup of cold heavy whipping cream with an electric mixer until thickened. Add 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, then beat until thick and creamy.
STEP 4: Add a generous dollop of the whipped cream to the top of each float. Finish with Halloween themed sprinkles.
How cute is this Spooky Black Cherry Float?! My daughter is going to love this treat on Halloween, for sure. Since we can’t do a whole lot of our normal activities this year, we plan to carve pumpkins, watch kid-friendly Halloween movies, and enjoy these floats as a sweet holiday drink.
How to Make Spooky Black Cherry Floats – Cocktail Version
Now… for the grown ups! Turning the Spooky Black Cherry Float into a cocktail is really easy. Follow the instructions above (also available below in a printable recipe card), but add about 1.5 ounces of vanilla vodka to the Black Cherry Sparkling Ice in the glass before scooping in the ice cream.
