Bacon Croissant Breakfast Casserole
I really love a hot breakfast fresh from the oven on a weekend or a holiday morning, such as Thanksgiving or Christmas. But it’s less fun to wake up early and spend the morning in the kitchen making the meal. That is why I now go for make-ahead breakfast recipes, and Overnight Bacon Croissant Breakfast Casserole is one of the best.
Just mix up the ingredients the night before and pour it into a 9×13-inch glass baking dish. Cover and refrigerate overnight, then the next morning you’ll bake it and have a wonderful one-dish breakfast with hardly any effort.

Ingredients to Make Bacon Croissant Breakfast Casserole
I stopped at my local Walmart and picked up the KRAFT HEINZ products I needed to make my Overnight Bacon Croissant Breakfast Casserole, including OSCAR MAYER Naturally Hardwood Smoked Bacon, which is America’s favorite bacon, and KRAFT Sharp Cheddar Shredded Cheese. Walmart is close by and I always know they’ll have exactly what I need, so it’s my top choice when shopping for groceries and household items.
Here’s everything you’ll need to make the Overnight Bacon Croissant Breakfast Casserole (see the printable recipe card toward the end of this article for the full ingredient list with measurements):
- OSCAR MAYER Naturally Hardwood Smoked Bacon
- Bakery-style croissants – you’ll want to use croissants from the bakery, not crescent rolls.
- KRAFT Sharp Cheddar Shredded Cheese
- Large eggs
- Heavy whipping cream
- Whole milk
- Dry mustard powder
- Black pepper
- Paprika
- Garlic powder
I love to serve the casserole with sliced, fresh apples for color on the plate and a nice sweet crunch. Granny Smith apples are my preference, but you can use any apples you like best.
How to Make Bacon Croissant Breakfast Casserole
Here’s how you’ll make the casserole:
STEP 1: In a large bowl, combine the cooked bacon, torn croissants and the shredded cheese. Pour this mixture into a 9″ x 13″ glass baking dish sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.
STEP 2: In the large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy whipping cream, milk, dry mustard powder, pepper, paprika and garlic powder. Pour this mixture over the croissants and bacon in the baking dish.
STEP 3: Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight or for 8 hours.
STEP 4: Remove the casserole from the refrigerator and remove plastic wrap. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
STEP 5: Bake the casserole for 35-45 minutes until golden brown.
STEP 6: Garnish with a few apple slices and serve.
Can I Bake the Casserole Immediately?
The casserole does need to refrigerate for some time to allow the milk and eggs to soak into the croissants. But if you would like to make the casserole and bake it right away, you can cover the dish and refrigerate it for one hour before baking.
How to Store Leftovers
Cover the dish well with plastic wrap or transfer the casserole to an airtight container. Refrigerate for up to three days. Reheat individual portions in the microwave.
