Creamy Fry Sauce Recipe

Dipping Sauce Love

Aren’t French fries just one of the most delicious, comforting foods? The average American eats 29 pounds of fries a year. Do you think your yearly intake is higher or lower?

As a big fan of potatoes in general, I also find that the right condiments with my potato is essential. For a baked potato I want butter, salt, and sour cream. On a sweet potato I just want plenty of butter and salt (I know, sorry to the brown sugar and cinnamon people). With hash browns I always need some ketchup. But for my French fries… this Creamy Fry Sauce Recipe is everything.

Cafe Favorite

I first started thinking about this fry sauce when we tried something similar at my favorite cafe near me. They serve it on a breakfast sandwich. It is a croissant filled with scrambled eggs, melted cheese, hand packed sausage patties and topped with a creamy sauce. It is heavenly!

We started ordering the sauce on the side and I put it on my hash browns. That sauce kept us going back for every chance we could get to eat breakfast out. But I also really wanted to learn to make it at home.

So I went to work, experimenting with ingredients, trying different dipping sauces until I thought I might be getting close. It still took some work and a bunch of tries, but eventually I came up with a crazy yummy, slightly sweet, very creamy dipping sauce that is comparable to what I eat at the cafe.

Serve this fry sauce on breakfast sandwiches, hamburgers, on hash browns, over rice (it’s a lot like “yum yum sauce”), and of course… with fries!

I think I’m pretty average when it comes to how many fries I eat but I do get tired of ketchup. This sauce does sound perfect for fries. Yummy!

FRY SAUCE!!! I am obsessed with this stuff. Yours looks delicious, I love the yellow mustard (most recipes seem to have Dijon, so I’ve never tried it this way!) Also, yes to the waffle fries!! That’s what I always do too 🙂

Delicious! I just mixed this up and took a little taste to see how it was and it is amazing, I’ve just been licking it off the spoon because my foods not done yet. It tastes a lot like Pizza Huts Thousand Island Dressing (aka the BEST salad dressing ever) except it doesn’t have the relish-y chunks in it. It’s also pretty low carb which is a big plus!
