There we are in all of our nerdy family glory! Ha! Okay, so we only wore the matching tie dyed shirts for one morning at camp and this is unfortunately the only family picture we took the whole week. My husband is such a good sport!
Last week we took a week off from our crazy summer schedule to enjoy a laid back week of family time and outdoors adventures. Do you do any camping with your family? It’s a really fun summer family activity.
Today we’re talking about the fun experiences of the last week and also unpacking and cleaning up the post-camp mess. Laundry laundry laundry! My husband is a saint and is washing it all because I need to re-pack right now and leave for another week of camp (this time for my job, not for relaxation!) today.
To help with the clean up I picked up a bottle of the brand NEW Tide purclean bio-based laundry detergent at Target. I love a bargain, so the $1.00 off coupon attached to the neck of the bottle and the Cartwheel savings (both good through July 30, 2016) made me super happy! I found the Tide purclean easily in the laundry care isle at Target during a quick visit for supplies. A trip to Target is my mommy break time!
With all the time we spent enjoying nature this week, it felt right to buy Tide purclean as it’s the first bio-based detergent with the cleaning power of Tide. 🙂 Tide purclean is certified by the USDA BioPreferred Program and is made at a zero manufacturing waste to landfill site. Love! And also love the results in my home… clean clothes!
So, back to our super cool (haha) tie dyed shirts… Actually, tie dye shirt making was pretty fun! I was a bit nervous because I did not dress my child in old clothes for this project (oops), but we still managed to get by without major stain incidents.
Here’s my cutie on a nature walk looking for birds and small animals…
During our week of family camp we planned to hike through the woods pretty much every day. There were so many great nature trails to experience! However, on the first day my little one realized that there are snakes and spiders and bugs in the woods, and she couldn’t wait to get out of there.
Willow worrying about creepy crawlers instead of enjoying the view…
Some day she will be big enough for the high ropes course and zip line!
On July 4th the kids decorated their bikes for a little liberty march. Willow looks nervous because she isn’t very confident on her bike. 🙂 But she made it!
Candle making at camp!
One of my favorite memories of the week was our visit to the nature center. I do NOT like snakes and I already talked about my girl wanting to get out of the woods because of her fear. But when given the opportunity to actually hold a snake in the nature center, my girl conquered her fear! We were so proud.
Celebrating the last day of family camp with cupcake decorating (and eating!):
All of the fun memories are so worth the effort to get to camp and all the clean up afterward. Thanks for the help, Tide purclean!
