“I wonder what it would be like to live in a world where it was always June.” -L.M. Montgomery
Sweet tea and summer… two of my favorite things at the moment. I’ve mentioned before that in the past summer was never one of my favorite seasons, but this year I’m savoring every moment.
I just returned from four super busy weeks of summer camps (as in work, not vacation) and now it’s time for me to relax and enjoy the rest of this sweet summer. Waiting for me on my doorstep the day I came home was a big box filled with gallons of Tradewinds teas. Just the perfect “welcome home!”
The last summer camp of the summer! #NapTime
I was blessed to be able to have my four year old with me for the last two weeks of camp. At first this was incredibly exciting to my girl. One night I had her up super late and she was riding around the camp with me on our golf cart. The purpose of our late night mission was just to keep an eye on things and make sure all was well with the hundreds of middle school age students at the camp. But really, it was a lot of fun too! I drove around the camp while my daughter and I ate homemade ice cream sandwiches from the Snack Shack and watched teenagers having fun swimming, playing outdoor games, and having a squeaky clean dance party on the basketball courts. Everyone was soaking up the last moments of fun for the night before camp curfew. As my girl and I drive around, the late evening breeze flowing through our hair and the sounds of music and laughter tickling our ears, she sighed and said in her sweet four year old girl voice “oh yeah, I was born for this!” 🙂
As much fun as the camps were, they were a ton of work for me and my poor girls schedule was a mess. By the end of the week she just wanted to go home. As much as she loved her babysitter, she just wanted her mommy back. Here’s my grouchy girl:
So we ended the summer camp season in quite the emotional state, which is why the big box of yummy teas was a special treat!
