Last year my little family made a big transition. We took a leap of faith and my husband accepted a new job. Not just a “job” actually, but a total career change. Scary times! Looking back, I have no idea how we held it all together because it took a TON of faith to make those huge changes. Now we are so incredibly thankful we did.

My husband now travels quite a lot on business. We love it! I’m happy to keep our life here at home happening and he’s happy to be traveling and experiencing so many new things. I’m thrilled for him! His work requires the willingness to go anywhere at any time and sometimes with not a whole lot of notice. To reduce the stress of packing he keeps a lot of items ready to grab and just toss into his suitcase. One thing he does really well is keep a well-stocked toiletry bag.

If you travel much at all it’s really a good idea to keep a toiletry bag on hand and filled with travel sized necessities. Make a trip to your local Walmart to pick up a small bag to be a travel toiletry bag. Then purchase some travel size items and containers. Here is a list of things you’ll probably need in your bag:

  • Body wash
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Face wash
  • Tooth brush in a travel holder
  • Tooth paste
  • Mouth wash
  • Dental floss
  • Body lotion
  • Face lotion
  • Travel mirror
  • Cotton balls and cotton tip swabs
  • Tissues
  • Shower pouf
  • Hair spray
  • Hair gel
  • Comb/brush
  • Cologne/perfume/body spray
  • Deodorant
  • Baby wipes
  • Razors
  • Sewing kit
  • Basic medications: pain medicine, antidiarrheal medicine, antacids, cold/flu/allergy medicine, over the counter sleep aid, etc.
  • De-wrinkle spray
  • Zip-top bags in various sizes

What else would you pack in your travel bag?

My family was just at Walmart buying some household items and we stopped through the body wash isle. I was pretty impressed with the New Irish Spring Signature collection! There is no need for men to be smelly! Guys will love the man sized body bars and the good smelling Irish Spring Signature body washes.

Even my girl wanted to check them out!

My favorite for travel? The Irish Spring Signature 3-in-1. It is body wash, shampoo, and face wash all in one bottle! Win! This will be perfect for travel because it condenses 3 bottles into just one. Anything that saves space is awesome for your travel bag.

Irish Spring Signature Body Wash for men comes in the 3-in-1 or Hydrating Body Wash and the man sized soap bars come in Hydrating and Exfoliating Scrub.

I am a frequent business traveler myself (70% on the road) and I am NEVER without a portable cell phone charger, Clorox wipes for the plane, Wet Ones for my hands, Evian Facial Spray to combat skin dehydration and post cards with my email address. Sometimes you hand someone a business card, but if it is more of a social setting it is fun to hand a post card to them with my email address on it so they can see where I'm from. 🙂

Your husband is so lucky to have such a savvy wife! 🙂 it's so wise to have a go bag ready when you travel a lot. My husband just works a lot. I'd almost rather he be gone so we have something to look forward to when he's home! #client
