I hate dieting. Hate it. That is why I am refusing to go on a diet this year! Instead I am trading my unhealthy habits for a healthier lifestyle. I explained my “Back to Balance” approach in my last post. Instead of a restrictive diet and grueling exercise routine, I’m choosing to free myself to enjoy healthier foods, an active lifestyle, and an attitude of love towards myself and those around me. It’s going to be a journey of life change, so I’m thankful for God guiding me along the way. With all of my new goals to work towards, I am so happy to have the brand new book “Devotions for a Healthier You” to get me started on the right foot!

“Devotions for a Healthier You” is a new book from Katie Farrell, the creator of Dashing Dish.

This lovely devotional is soooo for me! I must admit, I rarely read devotionals. I often find them too “flowery” and “frou-frou” for me because I’m a down-to-earth, every day life kind of girl who rejects the use of Christianese. The moment I opened my mail and pulled out my new copy of “Devotions for a Healthier You” I was just in love with the book! It’s beautiful, contains awesome recipes, gorgeous pictures, and 71 encouraging devotions that cause the reader to reflect on how she can improve the condition of her body and soul.

“Stop living a stressed out, unfulfilled existence, and experience a healthier, balanced, and more joyful life!”

I have just begun this journey. Will you join me? I am reading through the book one devotion a day. You can click here to find the Devotions for a Healthier You Book Study group on Facebook. Also, once you get your copy in hand, take a selfie with it to share on Instagram! Tag it with #DevotionsForAHealthierYou. Check out mine here. I’ll be sharing a couple of other silly selfies with the book over the next couple of days. Hopefully people think I’m funny and not just… weird. Haha!

You can easily purchase Devotions for a Healthier You
on Amazon. Of course you can also enter to win the book (below), but you may want to order yours now! Then if you win you can give the book to a friend and invite her to go through it with you. Wouldn’t it be nice to meet for coffee with friends once a week and share what God is doing in your hearts through this devotional?

I had the book in my possession for literally three hours before I ran to the grocery to buy ingredients to make the Raspberry Chocolate Chip Muffins! Let me tell you, they are delicious! Made with oat flour instead of wheat flour and using healthy ingredients such as Greek yogurt, stevia, raspberries, and protein powder, these sweet little treats will satisfy your cravings and nourish your body. And yes, they’re actually incredibly delicious! I would never lie to you about food… it’s too important to me!

These smelled so amazing coming out of the oven! You’ll find the recipe on page 40 of Devotions for a Healthier You.

Ready to enter for a chance to win a copy? The giveaway ends on Sunday, January 18th. You must be 18 to enter. Void where prohibited by law. The winner will be selected at random and notified by email. The winner will have 24 hours from the time of notification to reply with a mailing address. Great post, Carissa! I am slightly intimidated on what to write for my blog post now. I received the two books today, so I haven't had time to complete a recipe, yet. You made it look so good that I think I should go to the store before I write my post. Thanks for sharing!

What fun for a devotional to contain recipes! I'd run to the store for ingredients to make those muffins too :). Sounds like you've got a balanced, doable approach and good words to encourage you on your way.

Those muffins look amazing! Good luck on your new healthier lifestyle. My motto is moderate changes yield moderate results. If you want big changes than you need to be willing to make big changes.
