I hate dieting. Hate it. That is why I am refusing to go on a diet this year! Instead I am trading my unhealthy habits for a healthier lifestyle. I explained my “Back to Balance” approach in my last post. Instead of a restrictive diet and grueling exercise routine, I’m choosing to free myself to enjoy healthier foods, an active lifestyle, and an attitude of love towards myself and those around me. It’s going to be a journey of life change, so I’m thankful for God guiding me along the way. With all of my new goals to work towards, I am so happy to have the brand new book “Devotions for a Healthier You” to get me started on the right foot!

This lovely devotional is soooo for me! I must admit, I rarely read devotionals. I often find them too “flowery” and “frou-frou” for me because I’m a down-to-earth, every day life kind of girl who rejects the use of Christianese. The moment I opened my mail and pulled out my new copy of “Devotions for a Healthier You” I was just in love with the book! It’s beautiful, contains awesome recipes, gorgeous pictures, and 71 encouraging devotions that cause the reader to reflect on how she can improve the condition of her body and soul.

    Great post, Carissa! I am slightly intimidated on what to write for my blog post now. I received the two books today, so I haven't had time to complete a recipe, yet. You made it look so good that I think I should go to the store before I write my post. Thanks for sharing!

    What fun for a devotional to contain recipes! I'd run to the store for ingredients to make those muffins too :). Sounds like you've got a balanced, doable approach and good words to encourage you on your way.
