I’ve explained before that I’m a failure at chocolate chip cookies. That simplest of recipes totally confounds me! My chocolate chip cookies are always lousy. My brother can make the same recipe off the same Toll House bag… his will be awesome and mine will suck.

A few months back I ate the most awesome chocolate chip cookie EVER at a friends house. I asked her where she got the recipe and she directed me to the Well-Traveled Wife’s blog. Even with all of my past chocolate chip cookie failures in the back of my mind, I decided I just had to make these for myself.

Finally, SUCCESS! This is the best chocolate chip cookie recipe E V E R.

This recipe uses coconut oil instead of butter. I also add plenty of flaked coconut, because it’s awesome. If you don’t like coconut, just leave it out… then tell your taste buds to grow up, because coconut is sweet and yummy and even babies love it. Yum!

Trader Joe’s coconut oil is my favorite for this recipe. Not all coconut oil is the same! Depending on the type and brand that you use, the end result of this recipe may vary a bit.

Since this is not my own original recipe to share, please visit the Well-Traveled Wife for the recipe. I’m just here to tell you about it and point you in her direction 🙂

After you check out this recipe, do me a favor and click on one of the tabs at the top of my site to see other things I’ve written. I’d love for you to hang out here for a minute!

Have a great day!

These look delicious. I definitely want to try making them. I have some coconut oil that I don't know what else to do with.

They look yummy well done 😀 Truth be told I enjoy cooking but have no time for recipes really I just throw stuff into the pan, oven pot and pray for the best. I then name it anything it resembles – cookies, waffles, pancakes, bread!!! But I'm learning and if I can discipline myself, I want to start keeping tabs of what I do throw into the mixing bowl so I'm not always guessing 😉
