My baby is two years old! Amazing! I told myself I wouldn’t do a big party for her second, just a small family party. Well… that didn’t happen!

On Willows birthday we took her to a local free zoo at a resort to see the animals.

Birthday nap 🙂

While baby and daddy napped I left with my mom to make the party. Crazy busy afternoon! Here is how it all turned out:

Kids table. I had little foam bookmarks for the kids to decorate.

Pink and green theme

Plenty of food!

Willows Party Menu:

  • Pizza
  • Macaroni and Cheese (it turned into macaroni mush, but still tasted good!)
  • String Cheese
  • Grapes
  • Hummus and Pita Chips
  • Gummy Fruit Snacks
  • Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches
  • Turkey and Cheese Wraps with Honey Mustard Sauce
  • Apple Juice Boxes
  • Pink Punch
  • Bottled Water and Sodas
  • White Sheet Cake and Chocolate Cupcakes

Kids play area

I wanted the kids to have fun! I played fun kids music and brought small pools to fill with ball pit balls (we have large ball pits but didn’t have the time to blow them up!), a slide, a Sit n Spin, and a tent with the tunnel.

Bubbles and balloons for the kids, Willow pictures, a birthday
themed Abby Cadabby book for guests to sign, and presents.

Everything turned out great! And then there was the cake… :-0

I didn’t plan to spend a whole lot on the cake this year. I wanted a basic sheet cake. I tested some cakes and chose a local grocery store. The afternoon of the party I picked up the cake and was shocked by how terrible it looked! I chose the design from the book of designs they provided at the bakery. I thought the Elmo and Abby would be cute. For some crazy reason the bakery spray painted the color on to a cake iced with white icing instead of actually piping on the correctly colored icing as it showed in the picture. It came out all wet looking and the colors overlapped. Super ugly! I just took the cake and didn’t complain. Oh well. It did taste good.

Mr J seemed to like the ugly cake 🙂

Willow kept saying “Yumm!” 🙂

Present time!

I made Willows skirt out of ribbon and strips of torn fabric. I bought a shirt at Old Navy on sale a while ago that says “I am 2” so that was perfect! Add some cute cow girl boots and we had the perfect birthday girl outfit!

Willow just loved having the older girls help with her gifts!

She wanted to try out her gifts right away 🙂

Winding down… exhausted!
Picture with the birthday girl at the moment she turned 2!
Birth minute kiss 🙂

Exhausted from all the fun!
And mom finally gets some of the ugly cake.

All in all it was a great day! Next year I promise it will be a small and easy party 🙂

hahaha, sorry about the ugly cake. Willow is adorable (as usual) and she seemed to enjoy it, so I guess that's all that matters! I love her little skirt that you made, so cute!
Adaline had a Cowgirl party this year and I attempted to paint a horse silhouette. It was awful. I called it the "Dachsadoberpony" because it looked like a mix of a pony, doberman, and dachshund. Oh well!
