Do you struggle with feeling hungry mid-afternoon? Need to add more protein and fiber to your daily food routine? I have ideas!

My husband and I both work full-time and need incredibly easy lunch and snack options on hand. I really don’t have time to make my guy a homemade lunch, so I stock my freezer with high-quality meals that we can grab on our way out the door each morning (more on that later in the post).

The other necessary food solution is portable snacks. I’ve made a list of 26 high protein and high fiber snack ideas to help us all out with putting together balanced work-day (or school day, at home, for travel, etc.) snacks.

Stock a drawer or cabinet with small containers with lids for easy access when making quick snacks. Just grab two and pack one with something from the high protein list and the other container with something from the high fiber list.

Some of these items could actually fit on either list because they’re high in both protein and fiber.

High Protein:

  • Beef or turkey jerky or sticks
  • Cottage cheese
  • Hummus with veggie sticks
  • Nuts
  • Hard boiled egg
  • Cheese sticks or cubes
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Peanut butter or almond butter on celery
  • Deli meat and cheese roll up
  • Greek yogurt
  • Kefir
  • Oven roasted chickpeas
  • Chocolate milk
  • Protein shake
  • Protein bar
  • Tuna with whole grain crackers

High Fiber:

  • Dried fruit
  • Fresh fruit
  • Fresh berries
  • Veggie sticks
  • Brown rice cakes
  • Kale chips
  • Popcorn
  • Bean dip with baked tortilla chips
  • Veggie chips
  • High-fiber bread or pita

When it comes to a quick and high-protein lunch, my favorite frozen meals are the brand new STOUFFER’S® Fit Kitchen meals. They’re all packed with at least 25 grams of satisfying protein and available in these six delicious varieties:

One of my favorites was the STOUFFER’S® Fit Kitchen Cilantro Lime Chicken; white meat chicken with black bean and corn mix and seasoned brown rice with a verde tomatillo sauce.

My husband’s favorite is the STOUFFER’S® Fit Kitchen Steak Fajita; tender prime rib steak in smoked red chile sauce with a mix of red and green peppers and seasoned brown rice.

And really, does this look like what we used to expect from a typical frozen dinner?! Who knew a meal ready in less than 10 minutes could be so great!

    These are excellent ideas! I have done a high protein diet 4 times now to lose baby weight. I am going to pin this so I can come back, because I know that after I have my 5th (in a matter of weeks) I'll be going back to a higher protein cuisine. I'm always looking for fresh ideas!
